Chattanooga, Tenn. — Parkridge Health System welcomes orthopedic surgeon Christopher Pankiw, MD, to Parkridge Bone & Joint, a comprehensive orthopedic practice that already features orthopedic surgeons Mark S. Sumida, MD, and Martin H. Redish, MD. Dr. Pankiw specializes in hand and upper extremity conditions.

"The addition of Dr. Pankiw significantly broadens the scope of Parkridge Bone & Joint," said Kevin Lewis, MD, chief medical officer for Parkridge Health System. "His skillset allows the practice to offer highly specialized hand and upper extremity care, and his office location adds an additional access point to the highest-quality orthopedic care in Chattanooga."

Dr. Pankiw, who is from the Chattanooga area, earned his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine, in Macon, Georgia. He served a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, in Chattanooga, and a fellowship in orthopedic hand surgery at The Philadelphia Hand Center at Jefferson Health, in Philadelphia.

Dr. Pankiw is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and AOTrauma North America.

"We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Pankiw to Parkridge Bone & Joint," said Dr. Redish, who founded Parkridge Bone & Joint. "By leveraging our skills as part of the same medical practice, we will enhance the level of orthopedic care provided to people of Chattanooga and its surrounding areas."
