Cardiac Services at Parkridge Health
Comprehensive cardiovascular care requires a multidisciplinary team of providers. Parkridge Health is committed to providing residents of Chattanooga and its surrounding areas with the full spectrum of cardiovascular specialty care.
Our experienced team of specialists – which includes cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and electrophysiologists, among others – has served the southeastern Tennessee and north Georgia communities for more than 20 years. They diagnose and treat many types of heart ailments from common chest pain to heart attack, and partner with patients to manage chronic conditions such as hypertension, congestive heart failure and heart disease.
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of premature death and disability in the United States, and finding the right healthcare partner is the first step toward creating a prevention plan. Parkridge Health heart specialists will be there every step of the way, from preventive care through treatment and cardiac rehabilitation.
The Society of Chest Pain Centers has designated The Heart Center at Parkridge Medical Center as a Chest Pain Center v5 with Primary PCI Accreditation and the Emergency Room at Parkridge East Hospital in East Ridge as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. This means we have a dedicated team of specialists ready to rapidly treat heart attacks as soon as patients enter our doors.
Vascular Services at Parkridge Health
As a certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center accredited by The Joint Commission, we provide potentially lifesaving medical treatment to patients when they need it most. During a stroke, timely access to specialized treatment can prevent death and permanent disability. The processes put in place at Parkridge Medical Center significantly enhance outcomes by ensuring prompt assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients who exhibit signs of stroke.
Care Assure is our commitment to provide excellent follow-up care. The program was created to ensure patients receive appropriate care following hospital visits. Clinically trained nurse navigators support patients after discharge from the hospital by answering questions and facilitating follow-up appointments.
By taking a broad view of patient care, Care Assure helps to improve disease management during the transition from the hospital back into the community.
Are You at Risk for Heart Disease?
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in both men and women in the United States and is responsible for approximately one in four deaths in the country. Schedule an appointment with a cardiologist or cardiovascular specialists who can assess your risk for developing heart disease and help you create a prevention plan.
Leaders in Cardiovascular Care
Our electrophysiologists were the first in the Chattanooga area to implant an MRI-compatible implantable cardiac defibrillator.
Our electrophysiologists were the first in Chattanooga to use the WATCHMAN Left Atrial Appendage Closure Implant to reduce stroke risk in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients who have a medical reason for exploring stroke-prevention options other than blood-thinning medications, such as warfarin.
Our cardiac surgeons partnered with our electrophysiologists to be the first in Chattanooga to perform the Convergent Procedure to treat AF that persists even after two ablation procedures. The Convergent Procedure offers a potentially curative therapy to patients who previously had no other options.
Parkridge Heart Center was the site of the first robot-assisted cardiac surgical procedure in Chattanooga.
